About Barbara Robjant
An artist living and working in Hertfordshire, Barbara came late to art having had a career in Information Technology. But, in semi-retirement, combined with a family background of art-lovers, Barbara found her passion to paint.
Barbara visualises landscapes in dynamic and abstract forms, with colours that create an immediate visual impact. "My inspiration comes from living in the beautiful surroundings of the Chiltern Hills. I like to think I capture the drama of simple local landscapes in my paintings and collages." Unlike some artists who create collage, Barbara uses her own discarded sketches or paintings. "Because I use my own paintings on paper there is almost too much detail, so I glaze over some areas with a uniform colour to 'calm' the image. It is truly amazing to see how a collage evolves through this process."
Barbara works in oils and acrylics with a strong use of colour. She is a member of the National Acrylic Painters Association and the Bucks Art Society; and she gives local workshops.
