About Lisa Katzenstein
Lisa has been a potter for over three and a half decades, . Having always drawn and painted, her illustrative skill forms a central role in her ceramic practice. Imagery on her pieces is far from a random choice, rather an investigation into the qualities of plants, their texture, colour, and shape.
Her inspirations are drawn from post-war textile design and illustration, and the landscape painting of such artists as Eric Ravillious and John Piper. Her ceramic heritage is taken from the works of potters such as Kenneth Newland, Nicholas Vergette and James Tower.
